SMRI is sharing the following information for the Fall 2026 Conference taking place in West Yellowstone, Montana, USA 27-30 September.

Important Note: This page has been opened early to provide access to the hotel booking link. Accommodations in West Yellowstone are limited, and we expect hotel rooms to sell out quickly. If you plan on attending the event, we recommend creating your reservation as soon as possible in the SMRI room block, or alternate location of your preference.

Travel Information

The Fall 2026 Conference will be held at the Holiday Inn West Yellowstone located at 315 Yellowstone Ave, West Yellowstone, Montana 59758 United States. Reservations in the SMRI room block for the Conference at the Holiday Inn West Yellowstone can be made at their website. When setting up your reservation:

    • Ensure destination is Holiday Inn West Yellowstone
    • Arrival/Departure dates between 23 September to 1 October are available at a $309.00/nightly rate (the listed $16.00 fee will be waived) 
    • Number of adults defaults to 2, please update your selection if needed
    • Special Rate should auto-apply if creating a reservation through the hotel link.

A variety of accommodations are available to reserve for the period of the conference; sources such as Vrbo and Expedia list alternative options that are currently available.

Each SMRI participant is responsible to book their own hotel reservations.

West Yellowstone's closest airport is the West Yellowstone Airport (WYS) located 2.8 miles from the Holiday Inn West Yellowstone. There will be two flights in and two flights out each day until 29 September, after which there will be only one flight in and one flight out each day at this airport, so make your flight reservations early. Shuttle transportation can be arranged by contacting the Holiday Inn West Yellowstone front desk. 

Alternatively, the Bozeman International Airport (BZN) accepts many more domestic and international flights compared to the West Yellowstone Airport (WYS) and typically has slightly lower airfare, located 90.8 miles from the hotel.
