Library

SMRI hosts a library with over 3,700 documents that are available to members at no cost. Non-members that are registered in the database are allowed limited access to available information. The library contains SMRI Conference papers dating back to 1971, all SMRI research reports, and all World Salt Symposium papers from the fist symposium held in Cleveland 1962, to World Salt X (2018) in Park City, Utah. All files are searchable PDF files. The papers from conference technical classes are available to members in the library one year after the class is presented.

Non-Members are able to search SMRI's entire library and can see the results as a list of publications, but cannot access the documents. Abstracts from papers presented at previous conferences can be accessed on the Historical Conferences page. Non-members can purchase SMRI Research Reports or Meeting Papers by contacting SMRI with the document information (author, title, spring, or fall, and year).

Please contact Executive Director, John Nadeau, at [email protected] for Meeting Paper and Research Reports pricing. Research Reports are restricted to member use for one year after the publication and are priced at 1% of the cost of the research project paid by SMRI. World Salt Symposium papers are for SMRI member use only, as SMRI does not have publisher's distribution rights for these articles. Those purchasing or receiving SMRI documents implicitly agree to not copy or distribute documents outside their organizations without written SMRI permission.

Registered users can access the library by logging into the website. If you are new to SMRI, please register here to access the library link. Once logged into the website, the library link will be accessible in the dropdown menu under the Library tab. Instructions for the use of library functions can be found on the welcome page.
